More reasons not to eat glue…

Because you need it for your face! With four beautiful kids in the breakout age bracket I’m sure you can image that overpriced Biore strips don’t last long. Frankly, nothing lasts long. After getting them all hooked on the Zit Zapper bar from Disturbing Behavior skincare & face stuff has become much more exciting to them. They’re obsessed with that pulsing scrub brush on TV, love wax strips (if i have to explain to one more kid why you don’t shave off your unibrow I’m going to go mad… but that’s another story) and the damned blackhead strips are on a constant Walgreen’s list loop.

So anywhere I can figure out a dirt cheap way to replace something I’m all over it. But this time I have The Hairdresser to thank. (thanks Brett!) I’m not sure how the conversation started (likely something pervy that I said) but the gist was “I wonder if we could just smear glue on their faces?” and within the hour we were all sportin’ wood glue masks. Seriously.

We found that surprisingly it worked even better than any pore strip we’ve ever used! No irritation! No dryness! And it gets the little nose creases ten times better than any pore strip I’ve ever used! Apply your wood glue (or white glue) to your blackhead prone areas in a reasonably thick layer. ¬†At first it feels wrong. And a little dirty… Let it dry all the way just like you would a pore strip. If you take it off too early it’s hard to peel and it’s not effective. Let it dry till clear and then gently start to peel from both sides to the middle. It hurts like a mofo but it wouldn’t be worth it if it didn’t! Now grab a flashlight, tilt your face shaped peeled glue back and forth, adjust your light several times and marvel at all the crap it pulled out of your face. Optional: put peeled glue mask back on your face and chase your kids around yelling “it puts the lotion in the basket.”

Price for Biore stips: Approximately 1 million dollars $7 or more/less depending on your area. Price of wood glue: a lot less. And it has a million uses and purposes. And it’s GLUE. On your face. Tell the truth…. you’ve always wanted to. **obvious disclaimer: USE NON TOXIC GLUE. It’ll say.

This is probably the best thing I’ll read all week. Awesome tip.

Oatmeal and yogurt face mask is best for removing blackheads and oiliness from your face.
